Herve Leger was founded in 1985 by the artist currently accepted as Hervé L. Leroux. Leroux adopted his accepted name afterwards he absent the rights to the Hervé Léger name.

Leroux pioneered the conception of the "bandage" or "body-con (body-conscious)" dress, application abstracts commonly associated with foundation apparel to actualize dresses that would cast and appearance the wearer's amount with its signature bandage-like strips.

In September 1998, cheap herve leger dresses was acquired by the BCBG Max Azria Group from the Seagram's Group. This was the first-ever accretion of a French clothier by an American designer. Ohana & Co., a bazaar investment bank, brash Seagram's on the sale.

In April 2007, Max Azria relaunched the Herve Leger cast beneath his own architecture administration with a abridged summer collection, which was offered at baddest administration food and specialty boutiques.
