More information : 116 MacDougal is the address that originally housed the legendary Gaslight Café and is known as the birthplace of New York Bohemia. Starting with the readings of beat poets Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg, continuing with the stand-up routines of Wavy Gravy and Bill Cosby, and establishing the recording careers of Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, the underground room at 116 MacDougal left an indelible footprint in the cannon of New York City’s creative community.
